Bren Herrera kicked off her cookbook media tour in Atlanta and now she’s in Tampa, continuing her evangelism of pressure with the ladies of ABC’s “Morning Blend.” IN this segment, Bren celebrates Christmas cooking some or her favorite and classic Cuban recipes from her new cookbook “Modern Pressure Cooking.” Her arroz congrí is a solid holiday tradition in all Cuban homes, especially when paired with ropa vieja, or shredded flank steak, which is fully cooked in just 25 minutes in the pressure cooker. And, of course, no holiday meal in most Latin homes is complete without yuca con mojo, the oh-so-popular boiled cassava with a wildly tasty garlic and onion sauce, topped with a generous squeeze of fresh lemon. And, don’t forget a flan! In this segment, Bren features a toasted pistachio and cardamom creme custard.
Find all of these recipes in Bren’s new book, available now bookstores, nationewide and online.
