FREE Online Kids’ Cooking Class with Bren

Hey, friends! We are mostly working from home now and you probably are trying to figure out how to keep the kids entertained and fed at the same time. I would love to help you take away some of the stress but also engage them in something they could learn and enjoy  for themselves beyond this wild time.

Join me Live! every Tuesday at 1:30pm EST online, starting March 31st,  for the next few weeks while I teach your kids, ages 4-15, something fun and delicious they can make for themselves and enjoy for lunch or dinner. Skill level is beginner to intermediate. I will share and offer tips, tricks, teach some skills, and talk about alternatives or substitutes to ingredients. Please encourage then to ask all kinds of questions in the chat box and I’ll try to answer as many as I can!

Each week, the recipe and theme will change! This week is kid-fave, spaghetti with meat sauce! In the following weeks, I’ll be doing pizza, plant based meals, Latin-style — with some Spanish lessons thrown in there — desserts, and a few other delicious and entertaining recipes your kids will love!

I will be hosting the cooking classes, online via Zoom. Classes are FREE but donations are kindly accepted via CashApp: $honeybeehive.

Following is the full ingredients list and cooking utensils you need for this first class. Please have this ready for the kids to cook along with me.

For Sauce

  • 1-2 pounds ground chuck (80% lean is great)
  • 2 – 16 oz cans tomato sauce
  • 1 8 oz can tomato paste
  • Sugar in the raw
  • Carrots
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Oregano
  • Cumin
  • Salt and pepper
  • Grated parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil (optional)

For Pasta

  • Water
  • Salt
  • Olive Oil
  • 1-2 pounds your kids’ pasta

What You’ll Need to Cook

Cutting board

Knife (with parental supervision)

Wooden spoons

Large skillet

Medium pot
